By Jeff Edwards

A CHILD care worker was found dead in his fume filled car yesterday - Just hours after being arrested for havng child porn.

Social Worker Martin Thei, 50, specialised in placing children in foster homes. Now his bosses plan to incestigate hundreds of cases he has dealt with.

One Source said: "We must thoroughly examine all his work over many years with foster familes and children"

"We will have to look at his motives and his contacts"

Mr Thei, who was a team leader with Essex Social Services, was found dead in his car in Epping Forset after the Internet porn was discovered on his computer.

He had sent it away to be repaired and was reported under the same agreement between computer companies and the police that led to rock star Gary Glitter being arrested and jailed.

Mr Thei's home in Chigwell and office in Basildon were searched and he was quizzed by detectives/

Later he was suspended from his £35,000 a year job

Last night shocked neighbour Margeret Gardner, 63, said: "you'd never think he was into child pornography in a million years. He seemed a pleasant fellow"

Student Mark Blanchflower 31, asked "How could he have been allowed to have such a senior position with children"

Editorial Comment: Is this another indicator of the terrible state that social services are in?

Did Essex County Council instead cover up for his activities?

The RPSSUK would like to know whether Essex County Council indeed reviewed this mans work and if they made any changes to his decisions.

I doubt very much if they did as a member forwarded this article to us and today still has had no resolution.

Why is it so hard to ensure our children are protected from such deviant and dangerous men and women like Mr Thei, the people the Law says have to protect our children and their interests yet we are forced to hand them over to monsters like this.

This is not an isolated case, this man was a team leader, a social worker of many years standing, if he was a singular case then yes it would not be indicative of crisis but he and his cohorts infest departments and childrens homes across the UK.

There however IS a crisis in child protection, the "good" social worker seems to be an endangered species and getting rarer each day as the government continues to hand power to their actions. The government MUST intervene, step on a few toes maybe but why is it that the departments fear the smallest criticism?

IF THEY WERE INNOCENT AND FAULTESS THEN MAYBE THEIR PROTESTS ARE JUSTIFIED - BUT THEY ARE NOT INNOCENT - NOT FAULTLESS - AND THESE PEOPLE HAVE POWER OVER OUR LIVES AND CHILDREN

PROTEST NOW!!!
